Charles Spreads Holiday Cheer with Comer Hospital Patients
December 22nd, 2009
Charles, his wife, Jackie, and a few of Santa's elves visited Comer Children's Hospital to pass out gifts, visit with families and partake in hospital activities, to help spread holiday cheer to children and their families who were in the hospital.
"When our daughter was in the hospital, it was especially tough on my family during the holidays, so my wife and I wanted to do what we can to spread holiday cheer to these families." Tillman stated.
Charles, Jackie, and the team of elves passed out gifts bags filled with lots of goodies to over seventy-five children. Charles also called out bingo for a room filled with children. Bingo was also broadcast throughout the entire hospital on television, for patients and their families to play from the comfort of their room.
"Words could not express how much this has meant to me, my children and husband. We obviously do not want to be in the hospital over the holidays, but I so greatly appreciate the generosity of Charles and the Cornerstone Foundation for bringing some happy memories and holidary cheer to us, since we have to be here in the hospital during the holidays." stated one family that received presents and a visit from Charles and the Cornerstone crew.
The "Holiday Party" is a signature program hosted by the Cornerstone Foundation and takes place each December at Chicago-area hospitals.
